Start of autumn semester of 2015: IT Services at ETH Zurich
Monday, September 14th more than 2‘800 new bachelor students have started their studies at ETH Zurich (ETH News).
Welcome
Sooner or later every ETH novice will eventually find their way to us, the IT Services at ETH Zurich.
The IT Services (ITS) is the central ITC provider of ETH Zurich with a wide range of services and applications for all members of the ETH Zurich.
IT Services for Students
The IT Services offers all registered students, auditors and special students the following free basic IT services:
- nethz account (ETH identity management system)
- mailbox with 200 MB memory
- personal, ETH-wide available, home directory with 2 GB disk space
- personal scientific ETH-homepage
- polybox with 50 GB «Dropbox»-alike intern memory
- Stud-IDES with software free of charge
- personal homepage in your home directory
- access to public computers equipped with Office, Web, programming tools, mathematical software
- Internet access at ETH, using wireless LAN (WLAN / Wi-Fi) or docking sockets
- ETH-network access with VPN, using your own Internet Service Provider
