Xpressions Answering System End of Life
The Xpressions voice mail service will be discontinued on February 28 2015. Please contact us if you have an impersonal answering machine.
Siemens Xpressions, a traditional answering system, has been in operation at the ETH Zurich since 2004. At the end of 2014, 1800 phones were still using this service. Since Xpressions is by now outdated and cannot be upgraded it will be replaced by Microsoft Exchange Server’s Unified Messaging. New UM voice mailboxes were automatically created on December 18, 2014 to replace the 1600 Xpressions personal voicemail boxes. The users were informed accordingly.
Impersonal voice mailboxes
There are also a number of Xpressions voicemail boxes classified as impersonal (login with the phone extension instead of a username). Since these mailboxes are impersonal, we cannot identify or contact anyone directly.
