SOLA Timekeeping: A New Era Dawning

The recent 40th SOLA relay race was the 38th and last time that Peter Wegmann and Franz Kuster, both IT Services retirees (ITS), supervised timekeeping for the 13 000 runners.

Thank you!

A new era is about to begin with a new team and an equally new system. At life cycle end of this ITS service we would like to take the opportunity to thank Peter Wegmann and Franz Kuster for their loyal dedication and reliable and calm service.

For the last time: SOLA-relay timekeeping personified. Peter Wegmann und Franz Kuster (from left) will hand over this challenging task to a new team.

Although it’s been awhile since both men have retired from ITS, Franz Kuster has held an additional job until now, which he will only be leaving this summer. Franz will step down from his job as chief examiner of IT trainees following his 18th examination session.

Which brings us full circle to Sola. In 2013 one of Franz Kuster’s former IT trainees ran for the “Inforunners” (the ITS SOLA team). This illustrated an important purpose of the team: uniting customers, retirees and employees from various ITS departments by means of this sports event. The final ranking which the “Inforunners” occupied, 498, was real center field and fit the picture perfectly.
