Kollaborative Plattformen fürs iPhone: Txtr
Txtr ist ja in erster Linie als neuer eReader im Gespräch, der dieser Tage bestellt werden kann. Und zu diskutieren gibt auch der Entscheid der Firma, das Gerät nun doch ohne WLAN auszuliefern, um die Kosten auf unter 300 Euro zu senken. Aber txtr ist nicht nur das Gadget, sondern auch eine Plattform, die ich hier etwas näher betrachten möchte.
Gewisse Ansätze für Kollaboration findet man zwar auch bei Stanza (vlg. letzten Beitrag). Weiter ausgebaut wurde dieses Element bei txtr, das eine Plattform zum Bezug und zum Austausch von Texten bietet. Zum einen kann man eine wachsende Zahl von deutschsprachigen eBooks über die Website http://www.txtr.com käuflich erwerben. Txtr hat eine grosse Content-Allianz geschmiedet und führt die Angebote von libri.de, Ciando und Ingram in seinem Programm. Anschliessend kann man die Bücher mit der iPhone-Applikation txtr synchronisieren. Zum andern kann man aber auch eigene Texte über den Upload auf der Website oder ein spezifisches Tool zu seinen Texten hochladen. Funktioniert hat das im Test mit PDF und EPUB-Dokumenten. Der Clou bei der Sache: eigene und freie Texte kann man anschliessend auf der Plattform mit Freunden teilen.

Die Kombination eines grossen Angebots an eBooks und eigenen Texten mit der Verbindung zu Funktionen eines sozialen Netzwerks erscheint mir vielversprechend.
